Features of the Kohler Rubicon Kitchen Faucet Reviews

There’s so much that the Kohler Rubicon Kitchen Faucet can offer, so I’ll lay down the key features that will win you over first.

1

Product Features:

  • KOHLER finishes resist corrosion and tarnish

Construction and Finish

I’ll begin with its construction and finish. The Kohler Rubicon is made of premium stainless steel housing that makes it tough and durable regardless of the water pressure it carries.

It also has the Kohler’s signature ScratchShield finish that allows it to resist scratches and spots. Thanks to its MasterClean technology, it also withstands mineral buildup which helps avoid corrosion. This leaves you with an easy-to-clean surface that’s bound to last for decades.

Also worth noting is its disc valve that is made of premium ceramic material. This assures you that it meets industry standards while always performing at its peak.

Spray Head and Spout

The Kohler Rubicon uses a pull-down spray head which allows you to direct the nozzle to your desired spot which helps you to spray hard-to-reach areas. The nozzle is also angled in a way that would give you powerful blasts of water to aid in cleaning – whether you’ll use it for tough dish stains or for cleaning the sink.

You also have the option of switching from the stream or the sweep spray function, and this guarantees that you get the best water output type for your different cleaning needs. You can switch between these modes through its easy-to-use touch control feature – so easy that even kids can do it on their own.

This faucet uses a magnetic docking system to hold the pull-down spray head in place once you’re done using it. This helps keep the springs nicely tucked in, so you only see neat faucet without any protruding wires.

To make the spray head easier to use, Kohler made it with a flexible braided hose coupled with a ball joint for better maneuvering.

As for the spout, its high-arch design allows it to offer better clearance than non-arch spouts. It also swivels around, so you get better reach once it’s coupled with the faucet’s pull-down spray head. This makes it the best choice if you have two separate sinks for your kitchen.

Lever Handle

The handle is an oft-overlooked feature of most faucets. The Kohler Rubicon uses a lever handle which is easier to use than the traditional knob handles since you just have to flip it to turn the water on or off.

This Kohler model uses a single-lever handle which allows easy temperature control with one hand. This is especially convenient when you have to wash something but your other hand is occupied.

Technology

One of the primary features of this faucet that sets it above the rest is its wireless connectivity feature.

Using the latest Bluetooth technology, the Kohler Rubicon can connect with virtually any device that runs on Bluetooth 4.0 or higher. To make the most out of this faucet, you just have to download the Kevo app on your phone and connect with the faucet via Bluetooth.

Once you’ve paired both devices, you can already control your faucet through your mobile device. With this technology, you can help get your child to clean his hands without leaving your desk. You can also start filling the sink with water while on your way there so that you’ll be ready to start your chores once you get to the sink. This saves you a lot of precious time.

Additionally, the Kevo app also helps you monitor how many times the faucet has been used. This helps you determine your water usage so that you can be conscious of your water bills.

Other Features

Other notable features that you need to know to include its deck-mounting installation and its compatibility with 1, 2, 3, or 4-hole sinks. This makes it versatile enough to go with any sink design you want.

And while we’re on the topic of installation, it’s also worth mentioning that it has flexible supply lines and quick-connect fittings that make its installation a breeze.

This faucet also comes with a soap or lotion dispenser for your convenience.

Pros

  • Its Bluetooth connectivity is the newest innovation to modern faucets.
  • The swivel spout coupled with the pull-down spray head makes cleaning more convenient.
  • It is made of durable material that prevents mineral build-up and scratches.

Cons

  • This faucet is expensive.
  • The Kevo app is compatible with select versions of operating systems.

I have a Kohler Rubicon, must be an earlier model than the one mentioned above as it is not touchless. That being said I am wondering if mine has a flow restrictor in it. Since being installed in April of 2018, there has been a significant decrease in water pressure. If it does have this restriction, can you tell me where it is and how I go about removing it? Thanks.
